Rest in Peace Mr Carlin, you will be dearly missed.  You forever changed the face of comedy and opened new doors for those in your footsteps. 

George Carlin, love him or hate him, was a modern day genius and one of the greatest comedians of all time.  While some may not have agreed with everything he said, the beauty of Carlin was that he didn’t care.  He simply said what he thought needed to be said and most of the time he was the only one with the cojones do to so.  Most of the news coverage of Carlin’s death has focused on his "Seven Words You Can’t Say on Television" .  Rightly so.  The Supreme Court was involved and the routine proved how powerful comedy can be.  I can guarantees you that Mr Carlin is laughing right now as he watches the news reporters try to describe exactly what the seven words are.

I could write pages about Carlin’s influence and my personal favorite routines of his but I will leave it up the pros.
