After ten years it’s safe enough to say that The Big Lebowski, directed by the one-of-a-kind directors the Cohen Brothers, is a true classic.

Though they gave us many more remarkable films like Burn After Reading, No Country For Old Men or Fargo, this is probably their most popular and some would also say the best. Some of his trademarks like Bowling or the White Russian have found their way into pop culture thanks to the Dude. And when you say pop culture, you have to say T-Shirts.

Yes, not only Jeff Bridges as the Dude himself deserves T-Shirt fame. The Big Lebowski wouldn’t be the same without all those unforgettable characters, so we also honor his sidekick, the gun-nut Walter Sobchak (played by John Goodman) as well as the hispanic bowling god “The” Jesus Quintana (John Turturro). iPhone, MacBook, iPod … you can really speak of a very special company-customer relationship concerning Apple. I can’t think of any company whose new product releases get so much attention and cause so much discussion. Neither of one who has so many blogs and forums dedicated to them. So no doubt Apple products are special products, and more than a customer’s choice, they are a lifestyle, as accurately portrayed by the Simpsons here:

Besides high quality and the constant will to innovation it’s also the design that makes the products the feel-good stuff that they are (ooops … fanboy alert). In short: it was overdue to add some Apple designs to our Geek T-Shirts. We went way back in time to have a look about the development of the computers over the ages. Our Mac Evolution shirt from Macintosh 1 to the latest iMac is the result.

Mac Daddy here is of course not a rapping underage kid, it’s the first ever Mac to be introduced to the audience. Or better: introduce itself (and people going ZOMG! A machine that actually talks!).

However, “Lisa”, born in 1993, pleading “Don’t let me die!” may be in vain. The last of her kind were disposed of at a garbage dump in Logan, Utah in 1989. Mac adepts are more likely to use the eagerly anticipated Mac tablet which may be out already this year …

“I love NY” has become an iconic T-shirt design which everybody knows and has encountered many times. But everybody knows as well that not only NY deserves some love… so how about creating your own I love-Shirt?

With a tee so common you wouldn’t have to wait long for numerous parodies and variations to occur. As you can see above, Shirtcity has quite some of these I love-Shirts as well. Still they don’t even cover a minimum of what is loveable and making a design for every possibility would be a) a hell lot of work, b) impossible anyway.

So the solution is simple: a customizable I heart-shirt ! We guess you are also familiar with how it works: talented graphic artists from around the world submit their visuals for you to check, rate and comment them. We then print the best of them onto comfy shirts by top brand American Apparel and thus want to create the best tees possible. Their designers take away 500$ and 50$ in textile goodness and their job is done.

After almost two years there are quite some tees that came together. And since it’s time for the old to make room for the new we put down their price. You Are What You Eat, Watch Out For Your Own Desires, Queen Aerosol, Submarine and Impossible Love are down to 15$ only. Some of them have only few pieces left, so better not hesitate. The older shirts are still available for 10$, as long as we have them.

I think the enthusiasm Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States still causes is no less than phenomenal. Though there was a fair chance people might get disappointed after his inauguration upon realizing he is not Jesus/ the Messiah, basically “just” a charismatic politician, Hope is still alive. And that is a good thing in these times. (Speaking as a German, I dunno … you’re way closer than I am: Are you still satisfied with your president?)

He owes a lot of his succes to a slogan that is so simple, so catchy, so positive and convincing that marketing experts will have a tough time ever coming with something comparable: Yes We Can. This line is surely the most important, most often quoted and (ab)used phrase of the past 12 months, if there was a competition for that. Let’s ignore for a while that he is not the first one to use it to motivate people. With no more than eight letters, “Yes We Can” also makes a perfect T-shirt slogan. No surprise then we took it into our range of political T-Shirt designs in several variations, next to more Barack Obama T-Shirts.

Apart from our very popular LOST-T-Shirts it’s mainly the grumpy medical detective Doctor Gregory House who rules our TV and movie T-Shirt section. The simple House portrait is an all time fave, but also the House kit is an often ordered design. Motorbike, cane, vicodine and a PSP - that’s House almost complete. Maybe you would not exactly want him diagnosing you unless you suffer a seldom disease - but on the TV you just have to come back for your weekly dose of House-isms over and over again.

Even with the internet being our business and online every day there are always new thing emerging that can surprise and amuse you. For example the massive Michael Jackson wave that has grabbed the net. Our current Shirt of the Week “Astronaut Moonwalker” honours the Eternal Moonwalk which is an awesome Michael Jackson tribute site to watch for hours - you just might want to turn off the repeated one bar of the Billy Jean bassline some time. Our LOST T-shirt collection has grown to eleven designs so far. The highly addictive TV series also has some fans in our office who know exectly in which jungle you find polar bears, whom you shouldn’t fu … mess with and who begin seeing the mysterious numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 everywhere.
